I'm a huge book collector on the scale of practically hoarding, because I love those gems. However, I'm definitely a cover snob.  I won't buy a physical copy of a book with an ugly cover! I'll opt for the digital version if the cover makes me sick to look at.

Stephenie Meyer

This was written in 2011 and I decided to go ahead and publish it 8/13/19.

I have not been this passionate about a (new-to-me) author in a long time, but Stephenie Meyer is one of my favorites now. My son was given the Twilight paperback on Christmas Eve in 2007. He seemed embarrassed because the girls in the family were all commenting on how it was such a fantastic love story. He put the book down and didn't read it for a while.

I saw it in the same spot on his bedside table and dared myself to pick it up. My intention was to read through it out of curiosity. Not since Harry Potter had I heard such excitement from teenagers about a particular book. Well I ended up letting the urge pass me by. My son did read the book and when I questioned him about it he was intentionally monotone and vague. "Yeah, it was good." I could tell he was not going to give me any more of a reply, because it is a love story.

I finally read it and could not put it down. I read it until I fell asleep with the book beside my pillow. I could not wait to be finished with work to read the rest of it. I was sad when I finished it because I wanted to read more about Bella and Edward. I put the thought aside and had no idea there were fan sites for even women my age online. I would have enjoyed them while I was waiting on the other books to be published.

New Years Resolution? No, of course not!

As you can see, I set this blog up and then I deserted it. That was not my intention in the beginning, but I never have been very good at "following through". They say I have ADHD. I even took medication when I was in college and for the first time in my life I actually had straight A's in every class. (Laughing to myself because I didn't finish college, either!)

Needless to say... I am not the one for New Years Resolutions. I would only be setting myself up for disappointment right out of the gate, but I'd really like to get this blog going.

I just found a cool blog where the writer (I'm a reader not a writer) actually likes the same books I do! So I'm here posting to my own blog.

Edited on 8/13/19 - All I can say is, "Wow!". This made me laugh, because I was so right on the mark with this.

Books, Reel, and Real Life

The play on the word "reel" is not something I pondered for very long, but it fits all the same.
I love to read books that have been the inspiration for some of my most favorite movies. I love books and movies more than anything else in this world aside from my kids. My real life is inundated with so many different things that reading or watching films are things that frequently get put on the back burner. These are the places I run to when I must escape. I come to my favorite blogs and BBs about movies, music, behind-the-scenes filming, and good books when I need to "get away".

My books to read list has grown so large that I just ordered a large book shelf to store them. I did have them stuffed into a box under my bed. This was actually progress because they were all over my home. I had a few in the living room, a few on my desk, in my car, and basically everywhere I would sit for any length of time. This was strategic in my aim to get all the books read before they grew legs. In my home movies and books grow legs almost as quickly as my music.
